Sound: "Here In My Garage, Just Bought This Uh New Lamborghini Here... Fun To Drive Up Here In The Hollywood Hills... But You Know What I Like More Than Materialistic Things... KNOWLEDGE...KNOWLEDGE... KNOWLEDGE."
Background: It might be hard to be find the perfect place to celebrate your friend's birthday this year, so why not the infamous garage of Tai Lopez's Hollywood Hills mansion? Whether it's actually his or not, who cares? He's paying the bill with the knowledge he gained from reading all those books on his shelves. Plus, you'll be able to sit in his rented Lamborghini while sipping on champagne. Mr. Lopez might even give his "knaw-lidge" as a gift.
In February 2015, YouTube started displaying a pre-roll ad featuring Tai Lopez showing off his (supposedly rented) Lamborghini & bookshelf while promoting his self improvement video program “67 Steps to Wealth, Health, Love, and Happiness.” Due to the fact that it was impossible to avoid, the video quickly became known as "Here In My Garage" because of it's opening line:
"Here in my garage, just bought this new Lamborghini here. It’s fun to drive up here in the Hollywood hills. But you know what I like more than materialistic things? Knowledge."
The internet quickly flipped this intro video into a meme, spawning various parodies and remixes. Websites, bloggers, and YouTubers began to ask and investigate Who is Tai Lopez?"On February 6th, 2015, the Blogspot blog Some Final Words published an article the man and accused him of running a “fraudulent internet business.” On February 23rd, YouTuber OneLineDerek uploaded the first parody of the ad.
Another famous YouTuber, h3h3 who was originally an outspoken critic and skeptic of Tai Lopez's authenticity actually got the chance to visit the man himself at his "rented mansion" and to get his thoughts on what it's like being a living meme. And of course, h3h3 was followed by a bunch of lawyers during his visit.
What's better than being surrounded by knowledge books in a garage with a rented Lamborghini? Being there with the living meme Tai Lopez on your birthday.
