Background: As our technologies evolve, so do our bad habits. One of them is the habit we have of ignoring mom's phone calls and texts. We reach in our pocket, look at the screen, and just straight up hit decline. Then over the next 10 minutes, your mom's gonna blow up your phone with 12 more calls and 30 texts that start like "Where you at? Are you safe?" and conclude with "I'M GONNA KILL YOU WHEN YOU COME HOME." How ironic. Moms will be moms and we can't blame them for trying. Maybe it's time we apologize for our poor choices on Mother's Day.

"Pick Up the Phone" is a song by hip hop artists Young Thug and Travis Scott featuring Quavo from Migos. The song was released on June 3, 2016 and appears on Young Thug's mixtape "Jeffery" and Travis Scott's second studio album "Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight." It is essentially a trap ballad in which Thugger and La Flame beg a chick to answer the phone because the thirst is real.

The second half of the sound that plays inside the card is the typical robot voice greeting you get when someone deaded their phone or stopped paying their cell phone bill. "*Dial tone* We're sorry you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service." It's the worst thing to hear when you're trying to reach your ex. It's pretty creepy to listen to when you're not on the phone.

Pick Up The Phone Baby isn't only a hot song, it's also what your mom's messages say when you ignore calls. Least you could do is apologize for mother's day.
