Background: There is a classic American joke-riddle that goes like this Q: "Where does the 800 pound gorilla sit? A: "Anywhere it wants to." This evolved into a common expression of "the 800 pound gorilla in the room" to refer to a person or organization so powerful that it can act without regard to the rights of others or the law. So where's the gorilla now? Nowhere. He's Dead. RIP Harambe. Bring Harambe back to life for a friend's birthday. Just don't let Harambe get into a cage with them because they'll get him again. #JusticeForHarambe
On May 28th, 2016, a 4-year-old boy got into an enclosure of a 17 year old Western lowland gorilla named Harambe at the Cincinnati Zoo. Harambe grabbed the child and began dragging him around to "teach the child some discipline" as Harambe later recalled in his autobiography. A zookeeper panicked, grabbed a rifle, and quickscoped the gorilla to save the "hostaged" child.
Twitter quickly made Harambe into a meme, featuring him with Prince, David Bowie, and Muhammad Ali in tributes to famous celebrities that died in 2016.
On July 2nd, 2016, @sexualjumanji posted a selfie with a gun on Twitter captioned “We comin with them dicks out to avenge harambe!!!” On July 4th, comedian Brandon Wardell tweeted the phrase “dicks out for harambe.” On July 6th, Wardell uploaded a Vine of himself with actor Danny Trejo saying “dicks out for Harambe.”
Following the international tragedy of Harambe's death and his resurrection as a meme, Vine star Chloe Lmao recorded a special tribute club song for Harambe so that humankind could celebrate his life instead of weeping for his passing. The song is title "Dicks Out For Harambe"
Harambe might not have anymore birthdays to celebrate, but he's looking forward to dragging everyone at yours. Just don't let him have any cake, he might go a little bananas.
