What can you give someone for the holidays when a person has everything? Easy, just show them a good time. Or as Tupac would call it, just throw a gangsta party- a couple of beers, a couple of big booties, and maybe a couple of bandanas draped over the Christmas tree. This funny Tupac Christmas card plays "It ain't nothin' but a gangsta party" and is perfect when you go to the holiday Christmas party empty handed.
Tupac Amaru Shakur aka Lesane Parish Crooks aka 2Pac, Makaveli, & Pac was and still is one of the greatest rap artists to have ever lived. He's sold over 75 millions albums worldwide and his legend continues to live on as an influence to many of today's rappers. You might know him as the face of the West Coast and label Death Row during their beef with the East Coast represented by Notorious B.I.G, Puff Daddy, and Bad Boy. You might also know him as the dude who was always shirtless, with a bandana tied around the front of his head, and a giant Thug Life tattoo shining across his stomach.
Not only did he put the "gangsta" in gangsta rap, Tupac's songs brought awareness to the violence and hardship in inner cities, racism, and other social issues faced by young black men and women. He expressed this not only in his music, but also through poetry as seen in his book The Rose That Grew From Concrete.
The lyrics "It ain't nothin but a gangsta party" originates from the West Coast song 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted by 2Pac, Snoop Doggy Dogg and Daz Dillinger for 2Pac's 1996 double album All Eyez on Me. Daz Dillinger's voice is heard during the chorus of the song singing "it ain't nothin but a gangsta party"
The music video was filmed four months prior to Tupac's death. The prelude for the song shows a parody of Biggie Smalls ("Piggy") and Puff Daddy in discussion about November 1994 shooting of Tupac. The beginning of the scene where Tupac is speaking to Biggie is in reference to the movie Scarface where Tony speaks to his alleged killer before shooting him.
Getting ready to go to the Christmas party empty handed? Don't worry just bring this funny Christmas card featuring Tupac and plays "it ain't nothing but a gangsta party" from 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted by 2Pac & Snoop Dogg. Helps to turn any regular holiday party to a gangsta party.
